The POLs dilemma
Terrorism… Extremism across borders and strips…. A single individual agonising the civilians and non-orthogonal multifarious ruling bodies in unison… Whatz the solution?
I thought these sort of things are upto the Interpol but when the status comes to EU, there comes an even powerful mogul—> EUROpol…
INTERpol
Established : 1923, 1st formed in Austria as International Criminal Police (ICP)
Countries : 187 member states
Governing Body : Interpol General Assembly
HQ : Lyon, France
~ Shifted to Berlin during 2nd World War by Nazi Domination.
President : Khoo Boon Hui,former Commissioner of the Singapore Police.
Sec-Gen : Ronald Noble
~ Former US Treasury SG
~ First Non-European to hold the position
How it Works : ~It forms National Central Bureau(NCB) as maintained by the member country’s
law-enforcement officers. It is the designated contact points for General Secretariat, regional
bureaux and other member countries.
~The GS maintains a database of alleged, convicted crimes and criminals which any member
can access. During local riots, the regional offices can access the database to confirm the
people responsible.
Puys… dont confuse this Interpol with that New York based punk-rock band INTERPOL… !!
EUROpol
Established : 1999, The Hague, Netherlands, an aftermath the Maastricht Treaty signed to materialise
the EU.
Precursor : The TREVI, a general judiciary body which was inactive till EU idea…
Director : Rob Wainright (UK)
Members : 27
Trick : They made it mandatory for any European nation that the member status in Europol as
the primary prerequisite for the advent into the EU…
Twist : Europol is formally unaccountable for its actions to the European Parliament, as well as
to MPs from EU member countries.
They are doing a same job over congruent areas of jurisdiction but Interpol issues notices viz. blue, red, pink, etc., whereas Europol issues no notices…
Further due to EURO deal by the EU, Europol gets voluminous funds at an average of $57million, on the other hand, Interpol, despite its large member strength manages only $22million annually…..
The Virtual Link

Some realities may feign sometimes; some falsities materialize seldom virtually. Thats why human mind eyes all the out of the box things with a crooked awe, no matter whether it is real or unreal.
It is one of the thing that confirmed this “theory of virtual link”.
Last week, i happened to see about Larry Brilliant in one of my friends’ scribblings in Facebook. In the vortex of swine flued predicament, he had delivered his message “Soon it is going to be a chaining epidemic…”. Soon I got to know that he is an American physicist and epidemiologist, who was a former director of Google’s philanthropic arm google.org. He had CEOed two giant public firms too with a handful of WHO experience in smallpox eradication program. He had won innumerable credits and accolades for his consummate measures to safeguard humanity from social and biological pathogens.
This was not surprising to me for I had read about dozens and dozens of such icons. They always do exist!
I felt stupefied when I heard “he was instrumental in setting up Aravind Eye Hospital in Madurai” !!!
Mission Impossible IV – Starring Kavi…
Proceed reading only if you are intimidation-proof when it comes to Thrills. It is mandatory in this kinda world for everybody to experience some mode of thrill. The real beauty is that people got thrilled ‘unintimated’ by sHand and mHand; doubtlessly this has made me enroll first in the “Thrills Fanclub”. The only abstract thing which perplexed even Plato and Aristotle? Again the same ‘nice’ crap. Although my ears have perceived “Thrills are loafers”,etc, etc, from the sonic ambiance that immediately succeeds the pinnate cartilages, I’ve been proving to be the obstinate lover of the Voldemort of Voldemorts, Bond of Bonds – Invincible “Thrills”.
In my three years of college life, I have experienced thrills in various degrees, in various scales, in disproportionate angles, simply in every attributes of awry intelligence all going only to traduce me. But still i love thrills…. It assures me great fun- ‘in place of surging Adrenaline and advancing Thyroxine’… Yes, I bypassed hormonal expressions easily. Ok, l come to the present tense. My exam pointer has moved one unit and now it pointed to second in the exam array- Yes the pointer got me to the C2 Exam hall to appear for my Operating Systems terminal exam. Operating Systems is the only paper in this sem that gustoed my interests- the same task being beyond the scope of others trite pallid fellows – CSD, Microwave and OFC… That is OS. Prepared very early for exam… Studied all the topics… Excellent compilation by Galvin and Gagne. I studied, studied, studied…. for I had wondered how such petty microkernels of montavista linux and Angstrom managed to read the ARM9 and OMAPs in a crisscross fashion. Finally crisscrossing the Gagne compilation, I got it with some 80% efficiency. Its OK for an ECEian.
Morning…. Got up at 9:30AM… nice time… Whitewashed the tooth… Then skimmed the compilation in a slapdash fashion… I gained 200% confidence… Closed the book… Had some music… From Saathiya… Then went out to the c2 Hall. By the time i reached. everyone had been issued the question papers… I got my copy too… normal questions… somewhat standard in their wavelength… Started with 2 mark questions. Pretty easy. Explained the 2mark answers in a non-sententious fashion. But was 99% satisfied.. Then started with the big ones… Usually our college papers housed two subdivisions in each 15 mark question. 1st one compulsory and the remaining in “THIS os THIS” mode. Success in the disk scheduling problem. Then directory question.. I had a mild dilemma whether i can write the linking phenomenon in linux filesystems. But wrote that too. Then deadlock problem using Banker’s Algo… Fine… Then started my final question… Wow!! moment of Euphoria!! For I really did well…. Suddenly my auditory nerve decoded a very weak low frequency signal in 165-270Hz range. Oh… Very low frequency… I was not asked to design a low pass filter for the ‘infrasonic’ signal. The decoded message said : “Students! Those who have finished can leave the Hall. 2 more minutes to go. Wind up your work…” this decoded message augmented my Adrenaline production which evicted a tyrosine pollution in my blood stream… Only 2more mins… And 20 marks to write for…. MISSION IMPOSIBLE IV.
ALPHA A Prevails the Acumen’09
Finally we got it….got what we have been longing for a couple of years…. bearing two severe consecutive blows and debacles… Yes…we got it now… A moment of sheer bliss when we lifted the trophy…
Acumen, a literary and cultural bonanza to be conducted year by year in our dept. by the respective seniors of the year. Itz really a grt thing… with nearly 30 different events including on-stage and off-stages too… each requisiting some specialised skill.
2007.. Acumen’07.. during our advent into the dept. of ECE.. Seniors announced about the events.. Wow.. it is really good in this boring ambience.. Yes.. can u believe ur eyes if u eyed oasis in the midst of Sahara?? Never… Never… But twas true… Again Yes… Events had started slowly but gathered momentum very soon… For seniors, twas very good with points occluding further and further.. For our class, twas a dry pampas with dry fodder… Hardly got any points on Stage… First severe disappointment.. B section got third place… we at last… ![]()
2008..Acumen’08.. twas during second year.. my guys really really fathomed a lot to take up the charge as an acumen co-ordinator since they were sure that we are goin to mess this time too.. they got intimidated on seeing the indomitable foes Teen Titans.. Finally the events had started slowly… Some success off stage… but the on-stage was a shambles once more.. twas again a crap… We at last .. Teen Titans at third… I donno till that moment why i had chosen the unyielding name NEMESIS for my class!!
My guys got emptied and swore not to step in acumen again.. for it was a blend of an intact politics on favour of the Teen Titans… But Miracles happen at anytime…!!
2009.. Third year.. Acumen’09… last time even juniors went ahead of us int he points tally… so everyone in my class was a little bit wary of participated in acumen since they were a bit sure of the impending embarrassment.. But some +ve voices among the crowd got vigorous outcomes… A roseate epidemic thus ended in a pandemic in miniature… Yes I was able to see waters in the Nile but i cant figure out its source, when i was doddering in the midst of sunny Sahara.. Yes.. My guts not true but i believed they were juss simulating to be having guts to face the Blitzkreig Beacons… perhaps they were not aware of th fact that we were the AlphA’s at that time. This time, everything went as we had planned.. Everyone came forward … for everyone was eager to taste up atleast a sip of victorious rum at the D-Day’s end.. So the necessary ingredients for the rum was honesty, hardwork, confidence and an attitude to win.. Incidentally or accidentally, i was not sure.. my guys seemed to posses all these.. the day for off-stage events had come.. Amidst a plethora of untold expectations… Points started to occlude on our side on account of a fortunate landslide… yes.. 100 points in tamil story…75 points in english poem… 100 points in face painting.. 150 points in surprise events… 100 in treasure hunt… 100 in card-tricks..yes.. we got it .. had a big kickstart to acumen’09 with a lead in the off-stage with 1175 points leaving the Beacons behind 1125.. The beacons started alarming … they fought for the politics against them that went behind the scenes without any proofs.. But some of them thought our time for the validity of felix felices had already been out.. some were burning with rage.. but somebody said “these guys are not that worth to get this score…no chance,..” …. happily these words added to the fire of winning burning in my guys’ fourchambered heavens.. they were ready to prove their worth on-stage…The D-day had come.. unfortunately the beacons faced a severe power-cut in actions … lost everything… my guys had got points in watever they were in.. the points tally again faced a landslide towards the indomitable Alphas.. we proved to be the formidable foes for anybody who stood again the unyielding alphas… Finally the Acumen’09 materialised in our reality when we greatly wind up with a chanceless first in dance..
Alphas lifted the traditional Acumen cup…. with tears of joys.. with love..with emotions.. with unbelievable eyes…

This series of partially orthogonal things might beguile one to suppose this to be a template given for a candidate seeking admission into an engineering institute. Even if it seems so, truly these were my career interests, the fields in which I was thinking to file up an MS and then R&D with an ultimate aim of winning a Nobel for Physics at the earliest. Initial stages of choosing the realm befuddled me that I doubt whether the Hercules could help get me out of this di-tri-tetra-penta-hexa-….lemma. For an MS, choosing a realm is inevitable; working in that one is more inevitable; publishings and proceedings of the work are most inevitable and chain goes on and finally it links one to the most prestigious grad schools of America. So, I thought I must have a good launchpad for America. I published my works, presented in several conferences but at last I found my Nile had been branched up in the midst of Sahara!
This lasted only before the advent of a friend in my life, whose roads being less-traveled, captivated me and I soon became her admirer. I saw she straining her every nerve for the sole and coveted destination of getting into the Heaven of Indian Business- IIMA of course! Yes an MBA. Since my childhood, I had figured myself to be an Einstein of future! If Einsteinism were beyond my potentials, then I had an option in my pocket- atleast to be a Newton of the future to discover a potential equivalent for the word “Science”, which is not known for people around the globe. My dreams had also seen Black Holes and Galaxies that were beyond the scope of NASA’s Spitzer. Instead of Katherina Kaif and Britney Spears, atoms and electrons had proved to be the regular customers for my thoughts. My friend’s incentives were extraordinary whom I never wanted to miss in my life anymore. So, now how I wish I could be a MANAGER. But I dare to wish- not for Einstein -not for Newton -not for Faraday……..but FOR MY DEAR FRIEND!!
An Emotional Touch
Halley’s, one of the renowned comets among the personnel working at the edge of dimensions, has got reasons for its reputation. It is that it’ll appear once in 76 years, which’s the period it takes to complete one elliptical orbit with the Sun as one of the foci of the ellipse. The dusty atmosphere in the comet’s crust experiences very great sensitivity for gravitation which’s explicit from its long extra-traditional tail that distinguishes it from the rest; the majesticity of its look is romantically awesome! It has been said in the West that any person who missed the comet in his life, is considered to be unlucky and his soul would find no way to Heaven.
I’m a Saviour for those souls and I have things for their deliverance. Yes, it is true, I’m alluding to the recently released , Vaaranam Aayiram, Gautham Vasudev Menon’s alltime best. The way the movie portrays how one should father his son and how one should son his father is extraordinarily extraordinary and I find it has no substitute. I have learnt the audacity and hallowed perception that everyone should have in their life while expressing emotions and while articulating inner feelings, depressional tones, virtually real words of mind and ultimately what they call it -”Love”. Wow! What a performance!! My applauds for Surya who fantastically had done his job – as a lovable, lovely, romantic father -as a handsome, calmful, lustless, playful lover – as an emotional, sensational and a persuading son. Great man! The screenplay in the first 12 decades had been exceptional.
My next move is the Songs! No way! No way for screening such verses in such a way!!
Please, I feel itz gonna be a big movie and I would like to suggest this one for everyone in every sort of life and in every sort of age,for it has got lessons to teach
-What is Life?
-What’s the ultimate accomplishments of one’s life?
-What’s one destined to do in his life?
These lessons are available nowhere except a few theaters where the movie is screened.
I realized an overall emotional touch in the movie when Surya cried out on the phone for what happended just then, and his father on the opposite end giving the receiver to his wife, not able to withstand his son’s words and the mother who only heard Surya shedding out cries with tears.
Live the situation, Love the emotion!!
Beagle Experiments
For more comprehensive look into the combined world of Beagle+open source, see to the provided here:
http://blog.fosstronics.com/2008/10/21/beagleboard-experiments/
There’s an example of a DSP node for the dsp-bridge:
http://github.com/felipec/dsp-dummy
It’s simply sending buffers back and forth.
There are instructions about how to get all the tools, compile, and
run it at:
http://elinux.org/BeagleBoard/DSP_Howto#Developing
Also, the GStreamer/OpenMAX IL specific stuff is at:
http://elinux.org/BeagleBoard/gst-openmax
This is not following TI’s documentation, which I find overly
complicated. There are a few tricks to avoid the usage of extra tools,
headers, and messy dependencies, which actually don’t seem to work
anyway.
Enjoy!
Reliable libbridge
Use this version of libbridge:
http://omapzoom.org/gf/download/frsrelease/117/724/dspbridge_mpu_api.tar.gz
The IRQ -33 is a different issue and a kernel patch is available to
workaround it:
http://marc.info/?l=linux-omap&m=122349732218782&w=2
Many have realised this to be a reliable patch.
DSP Binaries
You must have seen the elinux DSP How to at
http://elinux.org/BeagleBoard/DSP_Howto
But the readymade binaries are at
http://people.freedesktop.org/~felipec/beagle/beagle-gstreamer-dsp.tar.bz2
except the DSP nodes, which you need to download, install
and accept the license agreement yourself.
These binaries work with systems compiled with latest images from
codesourcery (arm-2007q3), just put them on /opt and do the following:
export PATH=$PATH:/opt/gst/bin
export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/opt/gst/lib:/opt/omx/lib
export GST_PLUGIN_PATH=/opt/gst/lib/gstreamer-0.10
Also the kernel stuff:
http://people.freedesktop.org/~felipec/beagle/bridgedriver.ko
http://people.freedesktop.org/~felipec/beagle/linux-2.6.27-rc7-omap1-05018-g43
The following gst-omapfb element is used to render YUV data
efficiently on the beagle:
https://github.com/felipec/gst-omapfb
Enjoy!
Exams
Finally the traditional imposters again started frightening me in the name of “exams”. Yes, my fifth semester exams have set in. I hate these exams; I hate writing exams in the hopeless exam halls;i hate books.
Please dont mistake me. I’m not a rude and tasteless person to miss the cornettos of the life- writing and reading books. I love them indeed;in my past, i’ve realised that these two things are my sole companions in times of distress. So what made me to comment on the contrary in the former lines is the hopeless, meaningless, relationless and the the most antiquated nature of the contents in my college books. Yes, I hate this traditional nature of Indian educational activity which I think is also the presumable cause for the lack of all needed expertise in India. Yet I’m not a bad fan of Indians; I’m not a good fan of this tradition instead.
What one’s destined to do in his/her life? A good education…..then a good job to afford the basic needs and a good work in the firm of our interest. And ultimately by doing this good work upto one’s abilities is the only way of finding satisfaction in life- in my vision. So why not let us get started with our interests ourselves? Why these exams intrude us when we are on our own roads? I think this will pursue unabated untill any good Samaritan comes and regulates Indian traffic….
